“The best way to make other people know you is to show and share your culture”
– Aram Khachaturian
For centuries, our culture has been preserved as each generation proudly passes on our longstanding traditions while contributing a fresh and new perspective of their own.
A big part of ArmeniaFest is the entertainment program of the Groung Dance and Hayasdan Song and Dance Ensemble. The members of both groups are from the St. Sarkis community, and through dance and song performances, you will see the pride and enthusiasm with which the performers represent the Armenian people and share their culture with all.
Groung Dance Ensemble
Upheld as one of the oldest components of our culture, Armenian dance is the embodiment of our peoples’ grace and strength. The Groung Dance Ensemble is eager to present to you a set of dances that represent the traditions of our ancestors and celebrate the vibrancy of our generation.
Hayasdan Song and Dance Ensemble
The Hayasdan song and dance ensemble was organized in 2013 with only 3 singers. In one year, membership has grown to 14: 7 singers and 7 dancers.
The repertoire of the Hayasdan group includes Armenian folk songs, and classical composers’ songs in Armenian and European languages.
Circle Dance Instruction
ArmeniaFest also offers several opportunities for Circle Dance Instruction for all who would like to learn the basic steps of traditional and folk Armenian dances.
Church and Cultural Exhibits Tour
Our guests are treated to an exceptional tour of the St. Sarkis sanctuary, with the history of the Armenian Church personally relayed by the pastor. In addition, the tour incorporates the historical significance of the cultural exhibits in the Kechejian Hall. Come and enjoy learning about the pride of the Armenians.
