Dallas Ukrainian Culture Night Celebrated Ukrainian Heritage

Not long ago the Dallas Telegraph Newspaper and the Veselka Singing Group hosted Dallas Ukrainian Culture Night in Plano, TX. The event offered attendees a vibrant journey through the life of Taras Shevchenko, Ukraine’s legendary poet and artist, who was born in Ukraine, lived in Kazakhstan, and passed away in Russia.

Guests enjoyed Ukrainian music and dance performances, along with an exhibition and sale of Ukrainian art and souvenirs. A live telecast with Ukraine provided a direct connection to the homeland, adding to the evening’s cultural immersion.

The event featured a special guest appearance by Ukrainian Madonna Ludmila Kasyanenko, and a satellite performance by Anatoliy Matviychuk, a People’s Artist of Ukraine.

Attendees also had the opportunity to sample traditional Ukrainian delicacies, including salo (cured pork fat) and gorilka (Ukrainian vodka), with a variety of authentic Ukrainian dishes available for purchase.

The celebration was free of charge, welcoming all those interested in experiencing and supporting Ukrainian heritage and culture.
