The ramp from Northbound Dallas North Tollway to eastbound Interstate 635 will be closed through Aug. 20 for complete reconstruction as part of the LBJ Express project.
The five-week ramp closure, which began July 14, will allow the direct-connector ramp to be rebuilt all at once rather than staging construction that would have required 11 full-weekend closures. This schedule shoul allow the new ramp to open before classes resume for the new school year.
Crews are re-constructing the I-635 bridge over the Dallas North Tollway and portions of the connecting ramps within the interchange. Closures of the Tollway are planned and scheduled occasionally to accommodate the work. Whenever they are possible, closures occur at night and on weekends during off-peak hours whenever possible.
